Titanic Spa: Luxury Yorkshire Spa Hits the Spot
The Only Thing Going Down at Yorkshire’s Titanic Spa are your Stress Levels
If the stresses of everyday life are getting you down and you are looking for somewhere to relax and unwind then look no further – Titanic Spa in Linthwaite is the ideal destination for you.
Nestled in the dramatic Pennines just outside Huddersfield, Titanic Spa is situated in a converted mill that combines classic Yorkshire architecture (the mill was constructed in 1912, hence the name) with state of the art spa facilities. We took advantage of one of the spa’s many reasonably priced packages and combined a day in the spa with a night in one of their deluxe apartments located above the spa in the mill building. Spacious and modern, the apartment facilities were first class and offered stunning views of the Yorkshire countryside from the large balcony. Our package also included lunch and dinner in the spa’s bistro and the food was another highlight, ingredients are locally sourced and the quality of the seasonal produce was impressive. A continental breakfast had also been left in our apartment for us to enjoy the following morning at our leisure.
Total Relaxation
The spa itself is the country’s first eco-spa that set new standards in eco builds when it opened in 2005. It has its own natural water source 100m below the building which was the textile mill’s original source of water and is now used to provide fresh drinking water as well as supplying the spa’s plunge pool, swimming pool, showers and ice experience. The Titanic heat and ice experience is designed to induce deep relaxation and includes a crystal steam room, herbal infusion room, aromatherapy room as well as an ice room and plunge pool for those who are feeling brave! If you are feeling particularly energetic there is a gymnasium and 15m salt-regulated swimming pool available for use by spa guests or alternatively you can simply relax and read on the terrace letting the sound of the nearby babbling brook sooth away your worries.
Outstanding Treatments
I would definitely recommend treating yourself to a spa treatment with one of Titanic’s friendly and knowledgeable therapists. After much deliberation (I would have ideally like to try one of everything!) I went for the Absolute Spa Ritual which included an Elemis well-being massage followed by an Elemis Skin Specific Facial. My therapist Rachel was amazing and asked me what areas I wanted her to concentrate on during my treatment and then recommended products for me to use afterwards in order to achieve maximum results. The treatment room was a tranquil haven of soft music and dimmed lights and the spa offers a range of excellent value treatments including grooming, exfoliating, and hydrotherapy so there really is something for everyone including some treatments specifically for gentlemen, especially those who are new to the spa environment!
What are you Waiting For?
Whether you are looking to treat a loved one or simply to treat yourself I cannot recommend a visit to Titanic Spa highly enough. They offer a holistic spa experience away from the stress of everyday life and you will leave feeling relaxed and rejuvenated, ready to face whatever the world throws at you. My only worry now is when I will get the opportunity to go back for a return visit, although given they run a number of excellent special offers and promotions I’m sure it will be sooner rather than later!
